On the Wrist TUESDAY, 11 July 2017

The SKA373, from SEIKO, one of their most unusual timepieces to date, a love-it-or-hate-it watch with no middle ground. Its design is very similar to the Hamilton Ventura, which was the first of these highly unusual "triangle"-style (AKA 'asymmetrical') watches that began to show up in the late 1950's. This watch features Seiko's somewhat controversial "Kinetic" movement that uses arm motion to store up energy over long periods, even up to a year, according to all the available Seiko literature.

(Interestingly, the watch cannot be wound in the normal sense, and to get a reasonable charge built up, it requires about 20 minutes of shaking, using a rather, well, obscene gesture, so it's recommended that the wearer do this in the privacy of his or her home so that no one gets the wrong idea...)

Thanks, Arty; here's a pic of the six models that make up the Seiko "asymmetrical" line, and yes, I have ALL six of them, as can be seen in the 2nd pic...Jeez, I'm soooo mentally ill, aren't I?

Nah, you aren't suffering mental illness. On the contrary, you seem to rather enjoy it. Truth told so do I.
